About this herb
Seedless Rose Hips, cut.
Our dried Rose Hips (Rosa canina), also known as Dogberry or Witches’ Briar, are harvested from the fruit of the common wild dog rose. Naturally rich in vitamin C—up to 2000 mg per 100g—rose hips are one of the most potent plant-based sources of this vital nutrient, containing 10 to 50 times more vitamin C than oranges!
These vibrant red fruits are a must-have in herbal tea blends and traditional wellness practices. Their slightly tangy, fruity flavor adds depth and a vitamin-packed punch to jams, syrups, cordials, jellies, pies, and herbal infusions. Popular in both Scandinavian and European cuisine, Rose Hip soup is a beloved Swedish specialty, while Rhodomel, an ancient honey wine, uses rose hips for flavor and richness.
In skincare, Rose Hip seed oil is widely valued for its content of vitamin A (retinol), omega-3, and omega-6 fatty acids, known to support skin regeneration and help fade scars, fine lines, and pigmentation.
How to Use: 🍵 Tea & Infusions Steep 1–2 tsp of dried rose hips in boiling water for 10–15 minutes. Enjoy alone or with hibiscus, elderberries, or orange peel.
🍯 Culinary Use rose hips in jam, jelly, syrup, or baked goods. Their natural tartness complements fruit-based recipes beautifully.
🧴 Skincare Infuse in oil or create a decoction to use in facial masks, lotions, and natural beauty formulas for radiant, revitalized skin.
