About this herb
Frankincense Tears Powder Smell: aromatic.
Frankincense tears are the dried gum resin harvested from the tropical Boswellia Thurifera tree, in the Boswellia carteri species native to Arabia, India, and Northern Africa. The tears are obtained by cutting into the tree trunk, allowing its milky resin sap to harden to be harvested by hand. It takes between 8 and 10 years for these small, thorny, shrub-like trees to mature before the resin can be harvested.
NOTE: Our Frankincense powder is raw ground Frankincense tears resin, not mixed with any powdered material, and therefore, is not extra smooth as what is commonly on the market. Please be advised that the ground (powder) can have soft clumps when exposed to air.
USE: Burned over hot charcoal bricks to emit its fragrance as incense.
Religious: Frankincense is mentioned in the Bible and has been used for perfume scents since ancient days. This highly fragrant spice is commonly used as ceremonial incense by Jews and Christians.
