About this herb
Siberian Ginseng, Eleuthero root.
Siberian Ginseng, also known as Eleutherococcus senticosus, is a woody shrub native to the forests of Siberia, Korea, and parts of the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Commonly referred to as "Siberian Ginseng," this herb is not a true ginseng, though it is a botanical cousin to Panax Ginseng. Unlike Panax varieties, Eleuthero does not contain ginsenosides, but it has long been used in traditional herbal practices for its own beneficial properties.
This wildcrafted root has been used for centuries in Eastern wellness traditions, often prepared as a tea, tincture, or encapsulated as a dietary supplement. It is commonly referred to as an adaptogen—a herb traditionally used to help the body respond to physical and environmental stress.
How to Use:
Tea: Simmer 1 tsp of dried root in 8 oz of water for 10–15 minutes. Strain and enjoy. Tinctures & Extracts: Can be soaked in alcohol or glycerin to make herbal extracts. Capsules: The root may also be ground and encapsulated.
Pairs well with: Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, Ginkgo, Licorice Root, and Gotu Kola.
