The Bupleurum Chinensis plant is a perennial plant native to East Asia. The root of the Bupleurum plant has been used in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for centuries, with suggestions for harmonizing or moving energy through the body.
Bupleurum Radix root is mainly used in TCM to resolve lesser Yang disorders and create harmony between the liver and the spleen. It is said to be used in TCM to reduce vomiting, dizziness, chest tightness, vertigo, emotional instability, menstrual irregularity, bloating, nausea, menopause, and reduce hemorrhoids. The root can be boiled to make tea or soaked in vinegar to create a tincture.
